Subway Paternity

I took this photo on the way home from class one night as I was riding the 4/5 train south from Union Square. I couldn’t resist stealthily snapping this shot of father and son. After taking the picture, a woman on the other side of me smiled so widely I could see her from the corner of my eye. I turned to her and immediately knew this was the mother of the child. After fumbling over my words, I finally said, “I couldn’t help it; look at them!”

“Thankfully, I get to every day,” she replied.
